Save-A-Vet is a 501(c)(3) orginization, set up to provide a comfortable atmosphere where Military and Law Enforcement working animals can live out the remainder of there life. In addition, our goals once at 100% strength, is to provide disabled, injured and retired military and law enforcement veterans, housing and employment to help us care for these Forgotten Soldiers..

For our soldiers, K-9's are much more than "Man's Best Friends's". These "dogs" help us sniff out explosive devices, perform search and rescue work, find illegal contraband and provide personal protections. They are true "Comrades".

As a disabled Veteran, you can go to most any state and get free room and board. Something, that we at Save-A-Vet believe to be one of the right ways to treat those who fought for our freedom. At this time K9's are not considered veterans, but equipment. This is something we will continue to work on changing.

In addition, K9's that are deemed to aggressive, are currently put down. Something else you would never hear about with a current disabled or "aggressive" soldier or law enforcement officer. We do understand the liability with adopting out a K9 that has been trained to attack or kill, or have in the past. But as a current disabled vet, I have the resources of the VA Hospital for medical treatment, a VA rep with the department of  labor for work, VA housing to live in, and numerous other groups and organizations set up to help me live a normal life. We at Save-A-Vet believe the fellow soldiers, police officers, search and rescue and all other working K9's who serve side-by-side and protect us with their lives, deserve the same courtesy.

As our organization grows, we will continue to fight for the rights of these fellow soldiers. Soldiers that did not volunteer for their jobs, but still did them with every ounce of energy they had. Soldiers that no matter what the task, the long hours, heat, cold, rain or shine, can be counted on to do their duty. Soldier that deserve better

Here at Save-A-Vet we have three main objectives:

1) To open a facility in every state that provides both military and law enforcement the ability to retire their K-9 partners. These facilities feature plenty of land for them to exercise, and room to board.

2) To hire on retired, injured, and disabled military and law enforcement veteran's to work at each facility.

3) To get these Forgotten Soldiers classified as veterans instead of equipment.

We also work with law enforcement agencies to provide much needed supplies and care. If you represent a police department, fire department, search and rescue groups or any other government agency that is in need of support, please contact us at info@saveavet.orgel free to come join us, to stay updated on weekly operations.
